Distinguished and regal, Well Met is a 4 year old Thoroughbred gelding.  He retired from racing because he'd rather not.

He's sound, sweet and lovable. He also reminds me of my own horse Willie - a lot and Willie is some kind of nice horse!

He has been foxhunting in the 2nd field and graduated to the 1st field with Elkridge-Harford Hunt. He's a very willing and talented jumper. Stands at checks.

He's been to a few schooling jumper shows and has been in the ribbons. He also shows potential as an event horse.

This guy is priced at $7,500 and is currently located in Sparks, Maryland.  Please contact me for more information.

Hasufel is a grey 7 year old Thoroughbred gelding.  He stands16 hands with a substantial build.

Bred and trained by his owner, he was exceptionally fast and honest.

He started 8 times, with 3 wins, 1 second, and 2 thirds. His racing career was cut short due to two injuries which have had lots of time to heal, he is now perfectly sound.

He has done some ring work,  and been introduced to jumps.  He is also a dependable ride cross country. He has been ridden sporadically this winter, and is ready for any second career. He is a cribber.

Hasufel is $2,500 and is currently located in Pasadena, Maryland.  Please contact me for more information.

"Save Me Some"

Save Me Some is a bay 8 yr old Thoroughbred gelding.

He is 16.1 hands and was less brilliant than his brother as a racehorse, but always ran well.

He made 32 starts with 3 wins, 8 seconds, and 10 thirds. His last start in June of 2011 was a roughly run race, he was cut off and taken up sharply and still finished second. After the race there was heat in one knee and x-rays showed a small chip. Save Me came home, and has been turned out since then. He has not been ridden, but is ready to start light work. He is sound in the field.

Meet the classy and beautiful CetInMyWays.  She is an athletic and great mover.

Her manners are exceptional.  She absolutely hates being a racehorse and would be happy to be in a life where her many and finer qualities could be appreciated.

Although she has always tried on the track, she has not been competitive.

Maya is up to date on all vaccinations and deworming and has a current coggins.

I'm First is a 16 hand, newly turned 4 year old gelding.

Cupcake is retiring sound with no wind problems and his owner is having health issues and getting out of the business.

He is successful in lower level turf races but it is had to justify keeping him until next summer.

He has no vices and trailers well.

This is a guy with lots of potential for sure.  He would definitely do best in a situation where he has a job such as an Eventer or Jumper, maybe even Dressage horse.

Click here to see his video.

He is very cute and willing (the jumping picture is his first time) but will need an experienced rider because he is a lot of horse, in a good way, if you are looking for that next great athlete.

Cupcake is available for $ 3,000 and is located in Boyce, Virginia.  Please contact me for more information.

Cal is a 16 hand, incredibly friendly chestnut Thoroughbred gelding.  He just arrived at Leighton Farm yesterday, January 1, 2012.  Happy New Year Cal!

He raced three times but does not want to be a racehorse - he really never did.

He is a very nice mover and four years old.  Call has no vices or soundness issues.  He has been lovingly trained by his breeders, a husband and wife team at Bowie Training Center.

I'm really tight on time so I have to do things when I can.  It happened that when he arrived on the farm, it was sunny and nice.  I also had volunteers here to do the filming.  so less than two hours after he arrived at Leighton Farm,  I got on him and we made the video.

I think this demonstrates what an especially nice horse, Cal is.  He's going to make someone a happy horse owner and I don't think there's anything this boy can't do.

Cal is up to date on his vaccinations and has a current coggins.

Cal is priced at $1,000 and is located at Leighton Farm in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

"Delilah"

Click here to see her pedigree.

Click here to see her race history.

Delilah is a gorgeous gray Thoroughbred filly who had an unremarkable and consequently short racing career.  Our volunteer remarked to the trainer that she bet the track announcer had a tough time with her name during the race, but he responded that the announcer didn't need to say it very often.  Her registered name is WhyWhyDelilah.

Delilah is 3 years old and stands 16 hands already.  She's going to be one big girl once she grows up!

Delilah has no vices and is perfectly sound.  No racing injuries, not fast enough.

Click here to see her video.

She has been introduced to cross ties and is very good for a greenie.  She ships like a dream and is easy to work with on the ground.  At the present time, I am hacking her on the farm and not working her in the arena at all.  I feel she is too young for that sort of work right now.  In 30 or 60 days I will begin ring work and her price will be adjusted to reflect that.  In the video, that is the first time I was ever on her (volunteers have been hacking her).  It was also her first time in the arena.  I think it's obvious how nice this filly is.

Delilah is available for a tax deductible donation to Thoroughbred Placement and Rescue, Inc. of $ 2,500 and is located at Leighton Farm in  Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  Please contact me for more information.

She is 16.3 hands and perfectly sound.

Brownie comes from a family of successful steeplechasers and foxhunters. They are all super jumpers.

Her owners bred and raced her and wish she was faster than she is, but it seems she will make someone an outstanding event horse. She has been turned out full time for the last few months and is ready to start a new career.

Brownie is up to date on all vaccinations and has a current coggins.

She has no vices.

"Constant Star"

Click here to see her pedigree.

Click here to see her race record.

Beautiful Star has been off the track since she was two, being hacked and allowed to grow by a loving owner.  Now at five years old she has begun serious work.  I've had her here at Leighton Farm since September and have found her to be a consummate lady.  She has been building strength and stamina and skills.

As she builds up, we see her true potential.  Star works well with other horses or alone.  She is turned out with three other fillies and they are gal pals.

Star is 16 hands and has no vices.  Click here to see her videos.  She just participated in her first dressage show and won both classes with a 66 and 67%!  I've added a video of one of her tests.

Star participated in her first jumper show on December 3, 2011 and handled this new experience like a champion.  I rode her in three 2' jumper classes.  Her second show was at Swan Lake in Pennsylvania.  They had a Christmas tree surrounded by reindeer in the center of the course!  Star handled it and continues to develop.

Star shows great potential with jumping, being very cat like and smart.  Everyone working with her agrees that she is very good with her knees.  I am currently jumping her twice per week over low obstacles and she likes it.  She has now shipped off the farm to work with David Loman, Jim Wofford and Sharon White.  Elizabeth Madlener is overseeing her dressage development.  She is cantering lines and doing basic gymnastics.  Star has jumped up to 3' at this point easily, but she is schooling 2'6".

The more I do with this girl, the more impressed I become.  She has a great mind and that's as important as the talent she is exhibiting.

Star is offered for a $10,000 tax deductible donation to Thoroughbred Placement and Rescue, Inc.  She is stabled at Leighton Farm in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

He will do anything and at what ever pace you want
slow, fast,  or in between, He is lovely.

He  was the first foal born on her farm. He is sound and ready to go and loves attention. He is also a great mover.

Kokanut is offered for $2,500.  He is currently located in Chestertown, Maryland.

A great home is the most important part.
