Thoroughbred Placement and Rescue, Inc. needs help in all areas. Finding and organizing volunteers, Accounting, Fundraising, finding grants and donations, organizing and/or appearing at events such as Fair Hill and Marlborough Horse Trials. Help in the Office with anything and everything, Website design and maintenence, Marketing TPR by getting our accomplisments in the news. We need fosters homes for horses until we find them the right human. TPR would very much like to produce a dvd helping people understand off track Thoroughbreds and how to handle and train them. We need help in all aspects of this project. We also need help from horsemen at both Bowie and Laurel tracks. What follows are individual tasks we need help with. You can take one on or suggest one we've overlooked!

Individual Positions

These positions are individual jobs we know we need help with. You can examine the Team Leader classifications and choose a team you’d like be a part of or just select a job you would like to do.

Together we can do more. It really does take a villiage!!

1) Paint racing plates gold and use a paint pen to write www.goodhorse.org on it.

2) Call Trainers and owners to verify the horse is still available.

3) Call Trainers, owners, people we help and ask for donations.

4) Make video of the horses at the racetracks.

5) Groom at shows.

6) Pull manes, grooming on the farm.

7) Trim ears, faces, etc.

8) Computer tech, someone to come to the office to help with our computer and that we can call for advice/help on keeping our system running.

9) General help in barn/around farm.

10) Ideas, hold a fundraiser or help with one.

11) Promoting TPR, Inc.

12) Bookkeeper

13) Office help

14) Help creating DVD

15) Represent us at events and horse shows.

16) Someone to attend meetings for us to represent TPR and report on them.

Ex. MHC meetings.

17) Decorations for events we attend, pictures, letters, etc.

18) Create other displays for booth. Pictures of horses for sale at present, TV and video of past or present horses. Create a dvd of horses for sale or of horses that have gone through the program and on to success.

19) Find out who’s who in Racing and contact them for help.

20) Create/Update brochures. (Brochure that represents ways to donate.

21) Build/maintain cross country jumps.

22) Build database for website to keep track of what people are seeking.

23) Research Horses, what they are like to ride, etc.

24) Organize Horse show to be in series with Thoroughbred Celebration Show.

25) Produce newsletter.

26) Organize and track the scheduled events such as newletter and board meetings. Simply in charge of reminding us to schedule/carry them out.

27) People to help in and around barn

28) Check references of people interested in getting a horse.

29) Organize horse shows and benefit clinics for TPR.

30) If you have a farm and extra space you can foster a horse

You can suggest and offer something we haven't mentioned. This list could be endless!
